Hiring a personal stylist on a budget

How often do you go to your closet to get dressed for the day, only to end up uttering “Ugh! I have nothing to wear”! OR do you ever feel like you keep buying pieces of clothes but you’re just not sure how to put outfits together that make sense?

Maybe you know you have good pieces but just feel stuck in a rut or you’re rotating the same outfits over and over again?

*raises hand*

That was me! I knew I had a ton of clothes…in fact, I have TWO closets! But I was stuck in an outfit rut! Even though I knew it wasn’t true, I felt like I had nothing to wear and that I just wore the same pieces over and over.

In comes Naomi of Coffee. Lipstick. Go. To save the day!

Honestly, whenever I thought of a personal stylist I always thought of celebrities and $$$, so I’m really glad I had the opportunity to work with Naomi because working with a stylist is both beneficial and affordable!

At least working with Naomi is!

Her process is so introspective, and she is there to help guide you every step of the way from start to finish.

While Naomi does offer personal shopping services, I decided to go with her ‘Shop your closest’ option. I figured it would be better for her to get a sense of what I already own so she could make suggestions of what I needed. I also figured a fresh set of eyes on my wardrobe would be just what I needed to help me get out of my fashion crisis (too dramatic?).

Naomi’s process was very straight forward, once I reached out we set a date to meet for coffee at a coffee shop of my choosing, she then creates a style vision board that we can both contribute ideas to. She also emails a questionnaire that I found very introspective and helpful in determining my style goals, likes, and dislikes.

Our coffee date was like chatting with an old friend and made me so excited for our actual style session.

I will say, that we had some scheduling conflicts and Naomi was always accommodating. Then again, not much can be done when a hurricane hits the day of your style session! True story.

When we were finally able to get together Naomi got to work right away in my closets grabbing pieces and shoes to put outfits together. By the time we were done mixing, matching, and trying clothes on I had over 15 new outfits from clothes I already owned! I haven’t worn all the outfits yet, but I am so excited. She really opened up my eyes to putting pieces together that I never would have thought could go together and really maximizing my closet!

Now when I go to my closet, I am excited to see what outfits I can put together on my own or wear from our session. It was just what I needed.

I highly recommend her services if you’re in the Raleigh/Durham area.
